New slimmy Core Red: American Beauty

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we decided to do something a little special with our slimmy wallet collection by offering a bright new colorway — Core Red. While we are minimalists at heart, we also heart fashion. Color is key and red is a perfect accent to embolden just about any daily ensemble, any time of the year.

For the launch of the Core Red colorway, we attempted to recreate the iconic American Beauty movie poster. But instead of using rose petals as a suit, we used wallets…It was no easy task and we are pleased with how things turned out.

We thought 4,000 silk rose petals would be enough, but we could have easily used twice as many. This left some work for the good folks at Purple Films who rocked the video (above).

As you can see the pile of petals was just dense enough to cover the white background.

Filming wallets as a suit proved to be tricky and the petals kept moving around exposing the white background.

Lying on a cement floor while modeling and demoing product was no easy task. 

In the end, we could not be happier with the result and think the replica of the American Beauty movie poster is pretty damn good if we might say do. Thank everyone who participated in the bolstr production!
